CRT’s restructure of its enforcement team went live on about 5th September 2024. The main enforcement team is now called “Boat Licensing, Compliance & Enforcement Team”. There are no individual contact details published, only licence.support@canalrivertrust.org.uk and case.management@canalrivertrust.org.uk
The CRT web site now says: “The fastest way to contact our team for assistance with licensing is by e-mail – licence.support@canalrivertrust.org.uk Our team will call you back if they need to speak with you.
If your case is already with a case management officer, please e-mail the team case.management@canalrivertrust.org.uk The team will get in touch if they need to speak with you.”

The latter web page also says “Our team supports our boating customers with difficulties getting a boat licence, continuous cruising and extended stays for short-term illness or boat breakdowns. Our welfare team are also available to help support vulnerable boaters.”
The Welfare team is now headed by Sean Williams, with existing Welfare Officer Michelle Simmonds and newly appointed third Welfare Officer Steff Underwood who was formerly an enforcement officer on the Kennet and Avon.
The Complex Case officer is Clare Mara, formerly an enforcement officer in the East Midlands/ Nottingham area.
The NBTA is monitoring the effects of this change especially whether it makes the enforcement and Section 8 processes faster and so creates even more problems for boaters, and whether it makes life easier for boaters with disabilities.
