Largest ever health study of liveaboard boaters published

On 31st March 2021, Friends, Families and Travellers released the findings of the largest ever study on the health of UK liveaboard boaters. The research shows that 37% of boaters have been wrongfully refused registration at GP surgeries and dentists and that if registered, liveaboard boaters are, on average, 47 kilometres away from their GP.

The report calls for health and care services to ensure processes are in place so that waiting lists do not disadvantage nomadic people and so communication is effective when nomadic patients are on the move.
