Following a successful weekend on 15th and 16th June handing out hundreds of leaflets and getting several hundred petition signatures at the Hayes Canal Festival in London and the Bradley Canal Festival in Wolverhampton, NBTA is asking supporters if they can help leaflet and talk to members of the public at future events where CRT is having a stall. We have a list of events we are planning to leaflet at, but we don’t have organisers for all of them, and need more volunteers.
Our protest and engagement outings have been a fun activity. We have met a lot of supportive and nice people who love boats and waterways, and who care about the wellbeing of boat dwellers. If you are interested in helping to inform the public about CRT’s discriminatory licence fee increases, the next events where we plan to leaflet are:
Shardlow Inland Port Festival, 7th- 8th September 2024
Black Country Boating Festival 13th-15th September 2024
Tipton Canal and Community Festival , 21st-22nd September 2024
Anderton Boat Lift Steampunk Festival, 28th-29th September 2024
Banbury Canal Festival, 5th-6th October 2024
Stourbridge Navigation Trust Open Weekend 19th-20th October 2024
